You will need to go to tools -edit ninja script - indicator. Select anything and compile it. At the bottom of the screen it will list the indicators / strategies that have problems. Delete these or copy them to a text file then delete them. Compile an indicator again to make sure there are no other issues.
Then try and import the indicator I posted earlier - this is not my indicator but it is useful. As I said I have had no problems importing / deleting it etc. |

That is it - I read somewhere you are unable to compile / import indicators and strategies into the free version (I think) - you will have to check your T&C's for the exact details or NT's web site.

No, that is not it. In terms of analytic prowess, the free version has full power. You do have an error somewhere in the code of one of your existing indicators/strategies. That is what needs to be isolated. You do that by trying to compile ANY indicator, at which time you will receive an error window showing the errant code classes.

Thanks K - like I said (I think). Thought I saw somewhere that the free version had some reduced functionality and when he 'claimed' not to be able to see the 'edit ........' under tools I thought that that was something to do with it - maybe he just didn't look hard enough !!

I have read here that at least two people have "claimed" to have problems with this.
and others have i supposed "claimed" there are no problems with it. ; |

If you use a direct edition license with live trading from your broker - it would not offer NinjaScript access, what we call System Development in the license.
If you use the free simulated edition, then it does contain all features of the live version including NinjaScript. However no live trading access to any brokerage technologies.

would U suggest as i have the live trading free edition running to re-install the nt7 to clean out the faulty code?The edit NT script tab I am not finding and thsi is consuming time resources cleaning this up. |

additionally will I be able to move nt7 workspaces to external hard drive to save them and avoid having to re configure them ,then then apply them back to the new dwnload nt7 etc.

laredo, yes you can backup workspaces found in Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > workspaces to an external folder and then just restore to the same location later to resuse - however an uninstall / reinstall should not be really needed here, for follow up please email me at support at ninjatrader dot com.
