.net frame 4.0 not acceptable for ninjatrader?

I have microsoft .het frame 4.0 installed, but whenever trying to install ninjatrader, it says it needs .net frame 3.5 and prompts me to download it now.

My questions is : Does ninja trader works with microsoft .net frame 4.0 ?

If not, is it fine to install both .net frame 3.5 and 4.0 on the same computer? ( I need .net frame 4.0 because my other trading softwares （Multicharts ) requires .net frame 2.0 , I could not find .net frame 2.0, so I installed .net frame 4.0, and Multicharts works fine )

NinjaTrader needs .Net Framework 3.5 SP1. Yes, you can install both .Net Framework 3.5 and 4 on the same PC.

Please follow the instructions below to repair Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on your PC.

Download and run the .Net 4 installer from below. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

Once ran you will receive two options if .Net 4 is installed.

Select "Repair .Net Framework 4 to its original state"

Click "Next" and follow other prompts

Once the setup application is finished it may ask you to restart your computer, even if it does not please do so.

Please retest your issue and see if it is resolved.

Every version of .NET is available from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263

Applications can be .NET specific: this is allowed in the specification. If an application specifies a version, then you have to install that version. Multiple .NET versions can exist on the same computer. That is by design of Microsoft.

Hi Joydeep,

Thanks for your help. I have a problem with downloading net framework 3.5 sp1, it is 63M in size, but whenever my computer has downloaded the first 3--5 M , it restarted the downloading process, so it can always only download the first 3--5 M. Do you know what may have casued this error ?

Also regarding the Repairing net framework 4 you have mentioned, what is the purpose of the repairing and will my other softwares ( Multicharts ) continue working after repairing?

The download stops may be because of a cache issues.

I would suggest uninstalling ..Net framework 4 and then installing .Net Framework 3.5. You can download the full installer from here http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...dotnetfx35.exe

Once you have installed .Net 3.5 you can then install .Net Framework 4 from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=17851

After serveral tries, the .net framework 3.5 download eventually worked before I realized it. I started the downloading before going out and when I am back an hour later, Ninja Trader is installed successfully.

Thank you for your help, it is a good start, now I see Ninja Trader have good customer support and I must say I enjoy this experience.
