Dear Support Team,
I would like to know how to create charts of instruments not listed in the default list. I have an Interactive Brokers feed and I would like to trade ETFs on Ninja. Can you tell me how to upload for example: symbol SPY - (SPDR S&P500 ETF TRUST on ARCA) Thanks for your support. Best regards Claude |

Hi Scooter1,
Thank you for your post. With NinjaTrader it is possible to add an instrument to the database directly from a chart. If you open a chart and start typing in the symbol and a new instrument is automatically created. More information at: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/m...ata-Series.htm The steps to add a data series are the same as changing if the instrument is not on the Default Instrument List, and if the instrument is not in the database then the instrument will be added on-the-fly. However, if the instrument is in the database you can add that instrument to the Default Instrument List for quick access, too. http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...ment_lists.htm

Hi Ninja Trader_Ryan Olson
I tried what you told me but a message showed up on the chart. I tried uploading SPY (an ETF that is not in the list of instruments readily available on Ninja). The message was: "Error on loading chart data for 'SPY Default': Unable to change order: Please assign an additional exchange to this instrument in the Instrument Manager SPY Default" Thanks for your help. Best regards Claude |

Hi Scooter1,
When adding an instrument from a chart that message is expected since NinjaTrader will require a second exchange, since adding from a chart creates the instrument on the 'Default' exchange. What you will want to do to resolve is go to Tools-->Instrument Manager-->find the SPY contract and then highlight it-->Edit. Once the Instrument Editor window opens please select the exchange on which the SPY trades and then hit OK when finished. More information on editing the instrument at: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...nstruments.htm
