Default Questions about Kinetek

I am trying to understand what the free Kinetick data feed actually provides.

If I use a 233 tick chart for ES 12-10 it only provides data to 9/8/2010 at 15:14 CDT. If I use a minute chart it provides data for the current day but approximately 1 1/2 hours behind the current time. If I use daily data it is one day old.

If I use ES ##-## with a daily chart I get today's data but with some time delay. If I try a minute or tick chart I get a blank screen.

I currently use a zen-fire feed. It doesn't have the settlement data for ES. The Kinetick feed does have the settlement numbers. Is there any way I can use the zen-fire feed for my current tick data but get the high, low and close (settlement) numbers from the free Kinetick feed?

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your interest in Kinetick!

The End-of-Day data from Kinetick will be for 10 years, and you are viewing the intra-day data with a tick chart which would not be coming from the Free End-of-Day feed.

If you wish to view longer time periods of the Zen-Fire intra-day historical data then you can right click on the chart and select Data Series. Within that field if you increase the number of days it should display on the chart.

If you wish to have the settlement price from Kinetick you can connect to both Zen-Fire and Kinetick at the same time. If you connect to Kinetick first and then Zen-Fire you should get the settlement price from Kinetick, and all other data from Zen-Fire.

That doesn't seem to work for me. When I connect with Kinetick first on a 233 tick chart and then Zen-fire my chart data doesn't update.

When I reload historical data it takes me back to 9/10.

Is there a setting I am missing?

Hi BobTN,

Just to confirm can you please connect to Zen-Fire first, and then Kinetick End-of-Day. Please check that you receive real-time data first, and then historical data as well, and I am curious if the settlement price is what you see when connected in that order, or if it uses the Zen-Fire data based off the minute bars.

Hi BobTN,

Thank you for that clarification. After further testing on my end the data will come from Zen-Fire if connected first. This is because Zen-Fire includes historical tick, minute and daily day data. The daily data from Zen-Fire is based on the Regular Trading Hours, but that may still be different than the settlement price.

What you will want to do is connect to either Zen-Fire or Kinetick for access to the data from each particular provider.
