Default Routing with IB TWS and associated fees.

New to ATM and so far I'm loving it.
Still using the simulated account to get the handle of it.

Where does NT route the order to? I have been placing orders though the dynamic super DOM and it doesn't seem to have any choices. I'm used to placing trades to IB's "SMART" routing. The only reason I'm asking is because it looks like IB charges more in commissions if it's not used (fee screenshot enclosed).

Also, is there any per trade fee for using the NT interface to place the trade from NT itself?

Thanks in advance.

Hello 8DTK8,

Thank you for your post.

Yes, if your account is setup for use with SMART routing this will be used when trading Forex instruments.

No NinjaTrader does not charge a commission when trading with the platform this will only be paid to your broker.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Thanks Christopher.

You mentioned forex. Does the same no fee / smart routing take place for other futures too? For example, ES, NQ, ZB, 6E (EUR).

Where do you manage your account so it is "setup for use with SMART"? Are you referring to the IB account or NT account?

Thanks again.

That is correct NinjaTrader does not charge any fees for trading within the platform no matter what exchange or routing is used. The only fee associated with NinjaTrader is the license fee which either a Lease or Purchase of the key.

You would need to set your account up with IB for SMART routing and once you receive data within NinjaTrader you would then be able to trade this instrument.
