Default Same Bar Entry/Exit

Can anyone comment on how the strategy runner decides if a trade is a winner if the same bar has a high that would hit the take profit and a low that would hit your stop. Does it look to the lower time-frames for the answers? If not does anyone know of a good work around?

Shyam, you can add intrabar granularity to your backtests for a higher resolution backtest.

Thanks Austin. Could you please clairify one thing. If I peg the order to range 1 that should provide the most accurate results right?

Shyam,

With such high granularity it will be generally more accurate than with low granularity bars. But you will have to still consider that this is a backtest and fills are "guessed" and may not necessarily reflect true world fill conditions. Any type of backtesting will only be able to provide you with one theoretical result out of a whole spectrum of results that may be possible. You should also forward test your strategy to get a feel for some other results. You should be comfortable with the full spectrum of results before you take your strategy live.

Thanks Josh, if you could please answer one more question. Just to be sure, when using market replay for testing, the speed that you run it at does not actually effect the quality of the testing does it?
Thanks again for the help.

Shyam,

It does not matter what speed you run it at. Results you find at 1x will be the same as 500x.
