Default Backtesting data from a third party

My friend has offered to give me his recorded tick data. He has NeoTicker. What format does the data need to be in for me to run it on NT, and how does he format it?

Hi Dobbes,

I am not sure what formatting NeoTicker uses, but the data imported to NinjaTrader needs to be in the format listed in the link below.

It would be nice if NT got an ASCII import wizard. The NT format is not compatible with any of the formats I can produce with TickData's Tickwrite software (tradestation, metastock, ascii). Replacing the semicolon with a comma and using one between date and time (yyyyMMdd HHmmss) would also be more consistent.

Altough I use NT to trade live, I still have to use another piece of software to backtest my strategies on historical data.

Hello Nick,

I will forward your suggestion to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.
