chart "reset" feature

when i click the "Reset" button on the chart Properties box it goes back to my default settings ok, but it deletes changes to the chartbackground color and grid line color. How can i stop it from doing this? I have saved these changesin my "Default" template so i was suprised that the changes won't stay saved.

Reset - resets to factory default settings

for clarification -- if i use the "set as default" feature for my charts, then later hit the reset button, does it reset the chart to the latest default setting or to your original "factory setting"?
