Default Data directory cleanup

There are tons of small files in the my NinjaTrader Data dsubirectories.

I would like to not carry these forward into my hard drive backups, and I would like to not have unnecessary files on my hard drive....do you have documentation on what these files are and what their purpose is?

Except for when I load Replay data, I don't want to keep any historical data (on my system) beyond what my charts have currently loaded.

I would like to automate a process to delete all unnecessary files.

Or, does this exist in Ninjatrader?

Seem those files increase like rabbits...isn't that eventually going to cause a storage problem?

Thanks

TurtleTrader,

NinjaTrader won't automatically delete these directories, but you can do them yourself.

\db\cache houses historical chart data, in order to speed up loading charts you normally load. If you notice, they are separated by session template.

\db\tick houses actual tick data, including data that is outside of your normally used session templates. For example, it has ETH data as well as RTH data all together. This is done to limit the amount of data you need to request (for connection optimization), as well as save any data that may no longer be historically available on your data provider's servers.

\db\data houses Market Replay data.

Please let me know if I may assist further.
