Hi Danielj,
Thank you for your post. Yes this is possible but within both NinjaTrader 6.5 and 7. With NinjaTrader 6.5 you can right-click on the chart and then select Properties. Then in the ensuing properties window you can set the Session Begins time to when the market opens, and the Session Ends to the RTH close time. Then if you create a chart with Daily Bars you will also want to make sure that your provider supports historical daily data. More information at: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...HistoricalData With NinjaTrader 7 if you right-click on the chart you can then select Data Series. In the ensuing window if you highlight the instrument in the bottom left and then edit the Session Template property you can select a RTH template which will set the begins and end times of the chart. More information at: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...on_manager.htm Additionally, if your data provider supports historical daily data then the bars provided in some instances would be daily bars for RTH only. http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...rical_data.htm One such provider with NinjaTrader 7 is the Kinetick End of Day (Free) feed that can be used for daily historical data, and the daily bars created are for only RTH data. More information at: http://www.kinetick.com/end-of-day

Hello,
there is something wrong. I have account in Interactive Brokers. I set trading hours in properties of the chart as you said. And on intraday charts it is ok. But when I change time frame for daily it is not ok. I attache the exapmle for e mini S&P m15 and d1 when I showed open and close price for both time frames. This prices are different. On daily charts in properties I am not allowed to set trading hours. I am using NT 6.5. |

Hi Danielj,
With Daily charts created using daily bars the Session Begins and Session Ends times in NinjaTrader 6.5 will not be an available property and that is because daily charts are built using daily bars from the provider and the data contained in the bar is based on the times provided by the datafeed, in this case IB. More information at: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...BuildChartBars That said in most cases the daily bars used for a daily chart will be for the RTH only, but for IB you will want to confirm if that is the case, as well.

Hello,
I have data from IB from trading hours. So can't I filter them somehow to build daily data based on RTH? In TWS (Trader Work Station - platform for IB customers) I have daily bars created with RTH. I would like to see the same daily chart in both places (TWS and NT). Are there same chances for that? Daniel |

Hello Danielj,
Unfortunately, the Daily interval bars will use the full 24 hours of available data when IB is used as the data source. You could, however, create a minute-interval equivalent. For example, if using ES: RTH's for this instrument are 8:30-3:15 CST. If you were to create a minute chart which covered the 6:45 in which the market is open, you would then have a 405 minute chart which simulated the daily chart you're looking for.

I am not sure I understood you well. Can you show me how to do that or the scan of the results?

Hi Danielj,
For example, the attached image shows settings which would result in one bar which contained data from 8:30-3:15 CST. This is, essentially, the daily bar data you're looking for - you're just creating that daily bar out of minute data.
