How to apply strategy to chart

I have created and backtested my first strategy. Now I wish to apply it to a chart. However, when I right click on the chart, "Strategies..." is greyed out. What am I doing wrong?

You likely have Chart Trader running or you have the free Direct Edition version of NinjaTrader where this feature is not supported.

- If Chart Trader is running, disable it
- If you are on the Direct Edition, you must purchase a license from our website purchase page

Sorry to be dense, but how exactly in which window and button is the Chart trader disabled?

Right click on CT button - nothing obvious like the word "disable".
Tools -> Options - nothing obvious like a tab or button with "disable".

when I add the sample MA Strat to my chart the entry and exit price is the same. what am I doing wrong.

also how do I find someone to hwrite a strat for me

Hello Russ,

This is as expected behavior as per the SampleMACrossOver strategy. You will reverse positions when the MA's cross.
