View Full Version : Live data but charts don't update

HI,
I'm using 6.5.1000.2 with a TT demo data feed from Advantage. My data is updating realtime in the DOM and control center, but the charts do not update. I use reload historical data, but the last data point is Friday at 4:15pm. I've created new charts, shut down and reopened a few time but still the same result. Any ideas.

Please right click in chart, select Format Data Series and ensure the last date is set to today.

I tried creating new charts again and now its working. Deleted all the old charts. I guess something got corrupted or something.

Did you have a custom session on a volume chart? If so, then i have the same problem. I set a 25K vol chart from 8:30 to 15:15 CST and the chart doesnt update every monday morning, but once it will update after i go to format data series and change the days back. I guess i have to do that every monday until the engineers finds out what is causing it.

Hi nasdaq5048 !

A few questions helping us narrowing the problem down:

1) to which provider do you connect ? If to more than one, in which order ?
2) on which instruments/instrument types does this happen, e.g. ?
3) on which period type (1 day bars, 10 minute bars, 150 tick bars), and does that make a difference ?
4) did/do you use market replay shortly before ?
5) what are your session settings, and have you set the correct timezone ?
6) is/are the chart(s) in the workspace which opened in the beginning, or in a 'hidden' workspace ?

At the roll of a day at 12:00 AM:
6) is your PC running ?
7) in NinjaTrader running ?
8) is NinjaTrader connected to a provider ? If yes, to which ?

Finally:
9) what is your sequence when you disconnect/close NT/shutdown PC on the day to which date the charts got stuck ?

Most likely NinjaTrader does not detect that you have opened a live chart when you are shutting down. I suggest closing down NinjaTrader at the end of your trading session while still connected to your provider.
