No connectivity to IB ? Newbie

I cannot seem to get NTrader to connect to my TWS.



I set it up as listed in the instructions as far as API settings - and port number, account # etc.

I tell it stock - symbol - I see the symbol listed in the order box - but I do not see prices moving and cannot seem to simulate an order getting filled.

Please advise asap - I am trying to simulate live trading.

Are getting connected (green box in bottom of control center) and are not getting market data or just not getting connected?

I do not see anything green in control center, although I now seem to have it working.

I guess I forgot to hit CONNECT, duh!

Just confirming it only simulates trades without registering right? There is no way it could send a real order to the TWS, correct?

Also, Does it log all the trades somewhere?

My IBTWS is up and running. Build 838.7

See the performance manager for trades. You should use V4 NT but V3 is fine for now.

I downloaded what was available - I did not know there was a 4 - I will get the 4. Thanks.

Installed version 4 and now I cannot get that to connect to IB for simulation?
