Simulated Mode Versus Simulation Account

Could you please explain the difference between the following two modes.

1) Live Account but using the SIM-101 account for trading simulation.

2) Live Account with NT in simulation by setting license to MODE3.

2) Is for non-subscribers. If you are a subscriber, just change the account as per #1 or select File-->Simulator to put NT into exclusive simulation mode.
