View Full Version : Range Bars
Haven't been here for awhile. Just wanted to know if Ninja Trader was ever going to implement Range Bars in their charting system. It would be a nice feature to have.
There is a good explanation located here:

Hi, sorry to hijack this thread, but I do have a question that is range bar related.
Using NT7, I have setup a range bar chart, but can you tell me what timeframe the range bars use for reference?

Not sure that I follow. Are you asking what a range bar is comprised of?
Range bar charts represent when a certain amount of price movement has occurred. For further clarification, see the following link to Investopedia: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/trading/10/data-based-intraday-chart-intervals.asp

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but does NT build range bars using tick data or 1 min data?

Range bars are built using tick data.
You can see a list of all the data types that are used to build various bars from our Help Guide section under 'Understanding the underlying base data type required for constructing various chart bars':
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
