View Full Version : Second DOM not recognizing position

I have 2 IB accounts; 1 DOM for each.
Same ATM for both.
First DOM works fine.
Second DOM, after a fill, will display (and execute if reached) the stop & target, however, the PnL box remains black & the Close button cancels the open stop/target orders but not the position.

Hello SteveB,
I suggest to install two instances of TWS (one for each IB account). Create two account connections in NinjaTrader, one for each instance of TWS. Connect to both connections and check if the issue persists.

As per your suggestion, I have one DOM ATM Strategy Selection Mode set to "DisplaySelectedATMStrategyOnly" and it appears to work.
This is NOT a long-term solution...

Let me start by describing my environment:
System-1 = NT
System-2 = IB
Monitor-1 = 60/30/15/10 min NT charts
Monitor-2 = 5/2 min NT charts
Monitor-3 = 3 Dynamic DOM (Sim101/IB-1/IB-2);Control Center; T&S; Alerts; Ouput
Monitor-4 = Remote into System-2 for watching IB
Each chart runs the same Custom Strategy
---------------------------
On my DOM(IB-1); I placed 6 of the same ATM Strategies (short)...as the orders filled the PnL box remained black not recognizing the fills...the stop/target orders from the Strategy did appear...Control Panel Avg Price = 0...Unrealized seemed to be tracking the gain :-) properly...not sure when, but Avg Price did appear correctly.
I tried moving my Stops below currrent price to close the position; Stops just disappeared...I went to my IB app & closed all positions.
Control Panel/Account Performance showed gain properly...Accounts did not show the gain.
Naturally, if it was not for my gain today I would be much more upset.
:-)
I feel the problem is somehow related with NT's communications with IB.
I am going to try re-installing NT...

Hi Steve,
What version of TWS are you currently running? This information can be found via TWS --> Help --> About.

IB = 882.2
Here's a bit more to the puzzle...
I have normally connected to IB-1 then IB-2...and the problem has been with DOM(IB-2)...(original post)
Today, I connected to IB-2 first and the problem was with DOM(IB-1).

Sounds like a problem with connecting two IB TWS to one instance of NT. I do realize this is supported on our website but development just informed me this is no longer supported.

Is that your Final Answer? No desire to fix the bug?
So I guess that also means Custom Strategies can only be run against 1 IB account...?

I can install/run NT on multiple machines to execute against my multiple IB accounts?

Yes, but if you only have one Live license you can only run NT at the same time. If you want to run them all at the same time you need to purchase an extra license.
