I just had a crash, and have had to rebuild my drive. The only version of TWS available from IB's website is ver 838. Yet, in order to use the latest version (33) of NT, per your recent email, I need to use TWS version 831, since NT4 ver 34 is not yet available.
Where can I download ver 831, so that I can proceed while waiting for NT ver
4-34 to be released?
Thanks.

I already saw this.... Under "description", it says:
"Trader Workstation (TWS) Java program resides on IB server and is loaded into your computer's memory at the time of access. Program runs from your computer."
I think that this means all of my custom configuration settings would have to be loaded from scratcheach time I start the program, since it resides on IB servers.
What I'm looking for is a source to download the program onto my drive, so that I can save my settings (as is usually the case).
Is this possible?
Thanks.

Try contacting IB technical support for the download location of the 831 standalone version.

OK.... in the meantime, when will NT ver 34 be available?
Thanks.

OK, found the solution via Google:
First, you need to install the new TWS standalone ver 838.
Then, go to
http://www.interactivebrokers.com/cgi-bin/windows_standalone_tws.pl
They have a special link there to DOWNGRADE your current 838 back to ver 831,
saving all of your custom settings in the meantime, and leaving the program
on your hard drive.

As soon as IB fixes a few bugs. I have a work around but I held off since IB has been in contact with us and has told us they would be making some fixes by next Friday.

I like using the browser based TWS. So I would like to use that instead of the stand-alone in the future. I can't find a way to start up the browser TWS version from NT using the Connect command. So is there a way to start the browser version instead of the stand alone version?
Thanks,
Chip

I don't believe there is.
