Please add RSS support to the news window.

If I had to guess, I'd probably say the News window is one of the most underutilized features in NinjaTrader.

Just as NT supports Yahoo as a data source for those without a vendor, why not add .RSS support for those without a news service (likely 90+% of NT users)?

Both Yahoo Finance, Google Finance and countless other financial sites have free .RSS feeds, and it would greatly improve the usefulness of the News window if we could take advantage of them. RSS is really just XML, so it be really simple to incorporate.

Hi,

I support this request. In IB, the rss news feed for Yahoo is configured this way:

http://finance.yahoo.com/rss/headline?s=$TAG

The $TAG is a variable that represent the stock that is selected. In this way, one can get proper use for the stock it is charting or as selected.

Other links are available on google for instance.

It would be nice to have this in NT.

There so many good RSS feeds. I think generally they will fall into a couple different categories, market specific and instrument specific. Here are a few broad market ones that I use:

The Google finance ones are great too. Every stock symbol has its own Rss feed and the way the news events are shown over the chart is brilliant.

It would mainly be great to get instrument specific RSS as well. Here are the two main rss I use:

http://finance.yahoo.com/rss/headline?s=$TAG

http://finance.google.com/finance?morenews=10&rating=1&q=$TAG&output=rss

$TAG is replace dynamically by the selected instrument. So if the news screen is linked with an MSFT chart we should get MSFT news in the news screen using those rss feeds.

I don't use NT mainly because there is no rss feed. When do you plan to implement this feature? It is an easy way to get news in NT.
