Bug driving me crazy: not updating data on GC 06-08 with open position

A strange bug here is driving me crazy with my patsystem broker:

1) I have GC 06-08 toghether with GC 04-08 and 05-08 and other contracts in market analyzer
2) i buy one or more contracts of GC 06-08 with chart trader as usual.
3) NT after some time stops updating data in chart and market analyzer for GC 06-08 ONLY (blank line)

Things i tried:

1) Using 6.0 already installed on the same machine (vista 64bit)
2) Uninstall and reinstall of 6.5
3) Install on another operating system on the same machine (win XP, clean database and all, only GC added to market analyzer)
4) Install on another computer with different OS (win 2003)
5) Adding only GC to market analyzer with default settings for everything

The problem was always there, so it's not a corrupted database or something similar as i installed from scratch on different os and machines!!

It solved only when i phoned the broker and it closed my position, THEN NT started updating GC 06-08 again

Today same story. 1 contract long and after 5-6 hours it stopped updating
Now i have to sell it BLIND to see data again.
Really i don't know what to do any more.....
I can't use NT if it stops working this way....

I don't see anything unusual/unexpected in the log/trace files.

Can you try something -

- Run on an XP machine
- Only have GC 06-08 in the Market Analyzer and/or on a chart and in the Control Center. I only want NT to be receiving market data for this contract, nothing else (this is important)
- Does the proble re-appear?
- If yes, exactly when this happens
- Enable the Diagnostics tab via Tools > Options > General Tab
- A Diagnostics tab will appear inthe Control Center
- Uncheck To File only
- Check "Market Data"

Do you get some text in this diagnstics tab? It should stream with data. Let it run for a few mins.

- Uncheck Market Data (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Uncheck To file Only
- Disable the Diagnostics tab

I receive market data for GC 06-08 but it does not display it.
Changing MA columns does not solve the problem.
The ony column that seems updated is "Position Size".
The problem appears since when i connect, it never disaplys data for the open position.
GC 05-08 is correctly updated with a similar market data log so it's not a communication problem....
The strange thing is that Control Center --> Positions --> PnL is correctly updated....

Do i overwrite with the new one or do i have to uninstall first?

No need to uninstall if you are on a version older than that one.

What should i do to help you solve the problem? A more detailed trace file?

a) are there any funny messages in the logs?
b) please check on a setup where you only have the MA opened. Any difference?

The problem is still there
It seems all ok in log and in trace enabling in diagnostics almost everything.
Do you want me to run a special debug version?
I can even run visual studio if necessary....

I found that here NT stops updating data for every new short or long position AFTER you shut it down and reconnect.
It's all ok if it stays connected just after you buy or sell.
I think it's a patsystem plugin problem......
I uninstalled 3.5 framework and reinstalled 3.0 but same problem.....
Anyway i can't sell and buy everything everyday to make it work :eek:
As it is, NT is useless to me :(

The Setup guide of NT is outdated.
Vista has 3.0 framework as default and SP1 updates to 3.5 framework that inside have also 2.0 framework.
In fact my NT is running on 3.5 but in about window says .net version 2.0.50727.1434

Besides .net framework 2.0 is NOT compatible with vista....
2.0 Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3; Windows 98; Windows 98 Second Edition; Windows ME; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP Service Pack 2

I updated ATI graphic drivers and NT to 6.5 final but the problem is still there :(
As i said before, it's not this machine or this OS as i tried 2 pcs and 3 OS...

- not sure why you think the installation guide is outdated or believe that .NET 2.0 is not supported by Vista. Your own post contradicts that:

- NT6/6.5 runs on NET 2.0 (or .NET 2.0 SP1)

Also: Although I don't know what causes your issue I do not believe it's related to .NET.

In vista you can't :)
You install 3.5 (that has also 2.0 as part of it).
So you should update installation guide as on Microsoft site 2.0 installation package does not support vista and if microsoft does not says that 2.0 support vista i do not install it in vista....

You could update it this way:
If you have XP go here:

What error did you get as you tried to install .NET 2.0 (SP1) on Vista?
