Hi folks
Well for my first post on hte board I thought I would ask a really dumb question :). I have been using NT for about 5 days now. How do you change an order from the default market to limit? Every time I place a trade in the Super Dom window no matter how far from the price it fills immediately as it is taken as a market order. How do I change this? I have been through the help guide but nothing jumped out at me.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Try entering a Stop order. Info about submitting orders can be found here:

Fim,
How are you placing the order? For example, are you left clicking in the left column above the ask price? If yes, this is a limit order but it will fill immediately since you are saying "fill me at this price or better" and "this price" is the limit price which is above the market.
I suspect this is what you are doing.

Hi Ray and Vince
Thanks for the replies. Certainly a lot to get my head around.
Vince: I followed the link and watched the vid. I am trying to work out exactly what Stop Market Orders and Stop Limit Orders are. Whan I click with my middle (scroll) button I only get a magnifying glass that freezes the DOM window and nothing else. Maybe my mouse isn't configured.
Ray: I think that is what I am doing but thats obviously not the result I want. I want "fill me at this price or worse/above" for a long position :).
Thanks and happy trading

Then what Vin suggested is what you want, a stop market order. You will need to assign your scroll wheel click as your middle mouse button function. This can be done in your mouse mfg's software set up usually found under Windows Control Panel.
