I'd like to add gold price to NT, not futures value but actual market price as found for example on http://www.usagold.com/gold-price.html
I have an opentick account but i don't know if there is gold price there.
Can you help me?

Please go here and search for the symbol you find most suitable: http://www.opentick.com/index.php?app=search&event=symbols&PHPSESSID=l8qgf6ceagjnab6dopkq2v7rs7
Then add the instrument via the Instrument Manager.

I already did that Josh, but there are a lot of results for "index" with "gold"..... Are they all the same? It's not explained what they are....

Sorry I am not sure which one is best suited for your case.

I'd also be really interested in seeing the real-time spot gold price in NinjaTrader.
Gold is traded in many markets, NY, London, Hong Kong, Australia etc, so its unlikely to have a chart from a standard data provider.
As currency prices often have a direct correlation to gold prices which are also traded almost 24/5, this could be a valuable feature for Forex traders.
In the meantime I'd recommend GLD (Amex) as the ETF which most closely follows the gold price, and also the Dukascopy gold chart for the real time spot price:
http://freeserv.dukascopy.com/chart/?stock_id=333&stock_id=333&interval=60&points_number=100&view_type=candle&width=400&height=300&show_labels=true&osc_type=-1&rfi=false&height=300&p1=2&p2=3&p3=7&c=4142936&detach=true©r=true
I'm also using Opentick btw, but haven't been able to get Amex data working yet, even though I'm registered for it...

NT currently does not support ETFs.
:confused::(:mad:
Is there any reason why? For all practical purposes, how do they differ from normal stocks as far as NinjaTrader is concerned?
All this time I thought the reason I wasn't getting data was a problem with OpenTick.
I guess I should go close that support ticket now.

Actually you should be able to set up an ETF juts like a stock. Haven't tried it though.

Good to know. Josh's post had me scared for a minute. No harm done.
I'm using OpenTick and subscribed to Amex data, but none of the ETFs I trade (on Amex) seem to work.
Using OpenTick's Quoteboard, they work fine, so its definitely a NinjaTrader configuration issue.
Maybe someone with OpenTick could give it a shot? ;)
I'll try again myself tomorrow once the markets open, and search the forum in the meantime.
thanks for clearing things up.
