View Full Version : Esignal Daily Bars Not Showing

I am using Esignal as my data provider. During the day it shows data (1 min, 5, min bars, etc). After 4 o'clock FOR SOME STOCKS only the last DAILY bar is yesterday's bar.
I opened ESIGNAL itself and it shows everything correctly.
What could be the problem?

We are releasing NT 6.5 into production next week. Could you please upgrade to this version once released and let us know if the problem persists. It works here as expected on this version for me.

Hello, I am using also eSignal and NT 6.5.1000.1
Everything works well except daily bars.
For every symbol there are only one or two last daily bars.
If I set daily to 365 bars (days), no daily bar appears.
All other (tick, minutes, volume) bars works well.

I believe the problem Srategy1 is pointing to still persists,
everything working fine but as I switch to my workspace with daily charts I only see yesterday's bar, today's bar isn't charting, obviously not updating as well

If you right click in your daily chart and select Reload Data --> Does this help?

No that doesn't help, I see a popup window that the chart it is reloading but today's bar isn't added

I tried reloading, db repairing, restarting NT, but nothing helps.
This version of NT is my first installed, so there was no upgrade.
When there is set 365 daily bars, then there is no daily bar charted.
When I set only 2 or 3 daily bars, then sometimes oneor two daily bars appears (but not today, only yesterday and the day before).

- eSignal Data Manager version 8.0 (Build 299)
- Symbols from Prague Stock Exchange, for example SABAAERBAG-PRA. But this problem appears also with default ER2 symbol. Every other (Range, Volume, Tick) chart works well.

Hi !
If someone has a problem with eSignal not showing daily bars, please:
- make sure last date of chart (Format Data Series dialog) is todays date (e.g. 04/09/08)
- make sure there are no exceptions in todays trace, and no colored messages in the log tab.
- make sure you have the right timezone set.
If problem still persists, try opening NinjaTrader with clear workspace, connect to eSignal, open daily chart, last date = today.
If problem is still there, selectsame instrument in ControlCenter. Does daily open, high and low comes in for that instrument ?
Does anyone still has problems beyond that point ? If yes, with which instrument ?

Yes, I have still problems beyond this point.
All instruments from eSignal, for exampe default ER2 06-08, but all others.
I tried setting number in Days back selection and there are following results:
When I set 1 - then there is no bar. When new tick appears, daily bar is created.
When I set number from 2 to 10 - then I can see all daily bars (except last one, which appears with new tick).
When I set number higher then 10 - then there is no daily bar shown. Also last one (actual) is not shown.
I upgraded to the last eSignal version, Data Manager is now 10.00 (Build 388).

I also tested it with OpenTick a problem is still here, so I think that it is not based on eSignal feed...

Strange. And you are sure you use a empty chart template ?
Could you please send me your logs and traces via the Help -> Mail to support function ? Add christian AT ninjatrader DOT com into the 'To' field.

If you say you have a problem with OpenTick, is it, that the last bar (today's bar) is not build, or does it have the same symptoms than the problems in eSignal.

Unfortunately in the display routine of daily charts there is a bug, which doesn't allow larger amount of data with your country settings. The bug will be fixed with the next update.
As a workaround you might consider using US settings, when you want to display longer terms daily charts.

I found the same problem when I use IQfeed data , whenever I switch to daily time frame, I cannot see anything in the chart. However, weekly and other time frame seems working. I have sent the email to support with data and screenshot.

Hi,
I'm having problems with daily data for some time now,
I waited for the new version to come out to see if it would be resolved
but the problem still exists
I'm using version 6.5.1000.2
TimeZone = GMT +01:00
Connected to GAIN - Esignal
Please look at the attached picture
some things you will notice:
-Last bar not showing
-Missing bars
I've tried everything I can think of to resolve but no luck

Please pull up the chart in eSignal app (not ForexChart). It should match with NTs daily chart.

Not sure I understand your reply Dierk,
First I don't have the Esignal application,
but anyway, that doesn't justify why NT wouldn't show me the last daily bar, or other gaps in the chart
I'm pretty sure this would not match the Esignal app.

The data returned from eSignal is inconsistent: there are bars where e.g. close < low or open > high. So far NT filtered out these bars.
I just applied a code change which tried to still build consistent bars and compared NTs chart on $EURUSD with EUR A0-FX. By the looks of it it now is accurate.
This code change will be available with next NT6.5 update.
The last bar missing issue could be related to a "bars not updating" issue which we just fixed. This fix will be available with next NT6.5 too.
