View Full Version : Ninja Install Error

Upon opening Ninja this morning it tried to do an install instead of firing up the trading platform.

I get the error attached.

Any ideas?

Hi Stewart,

Has your problem been resolved? I get the same error message as your last post and can only start NT through C>Program files>NT5>bin>NT Icon. If I copy the start icon to my desktop I get an error message, so I was wondering if you resolved the issue through Denise with NT support.

I had to do a system restore and then delete Ninja and reinstall. My data was still there. But after a few more days it will do it again. I do another system restore and all works again.

So still not sure the cause.

Thank you Shiva. That is what Ray is suggesting to me. I may try some things on my own before system restore. I've heard horror stories regarding restore ...especially for the tech challenged person. Also, as I said, I can load my current NT now just fine. The prob is I can't upgrade.

Upgrade to what version? If you have a current NT version and you want to upgrade to NT 5.1.1.3 Beta, you can just run the installer. No need to uninstall anything. Did this not work?

Sorry Don, I rip through 150+ emails a day so at this moment it does not come to my mind.

A few questions:

- 5.0.1000.7 is current up and running?
- When you try and install the current beta version, can you remind me what the error message is?

Ray,

- 5.0.1000.7 is up and running and connects to Patsystems.
- The error message says: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Sorry I dont know how to post a screenshot, but it is the same "network resource" error message as posted by Shiva below.

Try the following -

1 - Clear your internet cache, via IE it is Tools-->Internet Options, Clear History
2- Download and save the folllowing file to your desktop

http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/ninjatrader/nt5/NinjaTrader.Install.msi (http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/ninjatrader/nt5/NinjaTrader.Install.msi)

3. Double click on the saved file to run the installer.

Let me know how this works out.

If you uninstall the current version. Then install via the instructions in the earlier post. Will this work?

After uninstalling R7, clear browser cache again, this time try installing directly from the website (not downloading and saving the install file)
