Orders not going through to MB Trading

Hi,

I have licensed NinjaTrader but am unable to get it set up to trade through my account at MB Trading.

It all looks good, I am connected to MB and receiving data, but when I place an order it does not go through.

The order shows up on the chart, but once it is there, I am unable to cancel or modify it, and it never shows up at MB. I have to close down Ninja to get it to remove the order from the chart.

I looked at the log and found this:

b) if this does not help: get a fresh DB http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/activekb/questions/12/Creating-a-Fresh-Database

Thanks for the reply.

I just tried both solutions you presented below, but I get the same errors.

In fact, after trying both solutions without success, I uninstalled NinjaTrader, deleted the NinjaTrader 5 folder, emptied the recycle bin, reinstalled the aplication, and the errors are still there.

On the fresh install, I again followed the steps below and deleted the .db file. I am pretty certain I have removed the .db file completely and started with a clean one, but it looks like any new one generates these same errors:

1 - Unhandled Exception error pop up (when trying to save preferences. Details below in thread.

2 - Placing an order never makes it to MB's server, it does not show in the DOM or the Order Entry window, but it does show on the chart, where I am unable to cancel it or move it. This only happens on live or demo accounts, in Sim mode it all works fine.

Note - I noticed something new, if I try to move the order from the chart, it won't move or delete, but if I change the number of contracts, the added contracts will show up where I tried to move the initial contracts too. So I will have two different order placements showing on the chart in different places. Again, this is just on the chart, nothing shows in the DOM or Order window, and it is only on my MB Live or Demo accounts.

After trying to place an order, the log file reads:
Cbi.Order.SubmitNow: exception caught: Object reference not set to an instance of the object.

Please let me know your thoughts, I would love to get up and running with Ninja.

Severla issues which probably all have the same cause. Let's find out:
go to instrument manager, double click on e.g. ES and then press OK. Does it work or do you get the problems reported in your first post.

I get the same Unhandled Exception error.

Here are the repo steps for where it fails:

I go Tools>Instrument Manager and then nav to ES
I double click on ES, and the Instrument Editor opens
It is after I click 'OK' on the Instrument Editor that the Error window appears.

Thanks for confirmation. Apparently your installation is somehow screwed up, meaning there potentially is an incorrect/incomplete intallation of NT or any of it's prerequesites or there is a version clash between different components.

Let's start from here:
- double check installation pre-requesites
- which version do you have installed?
* Window OS?
* MBT Nav?
* .NET runtime?

Ok, I downloaded the MDAC component checker from Microsoft. It says I have installed MDAC 2.8. SP1 on Windows XP SP2.

I won't allow me to install the MDAC itself as it says it is already part of this version of Windows.

Good news and bad news. I contacted MBTrading and managed to get the older version of Navigator and installed it. This did in fact solve the order issue I was seeing. The DOM, Chart, Log, etc appear to deal with orders as expected now.

As you suggested, it appears the incompatibilty was with the newer Navigator and downgrading resolved.

However, in finding the older version of Navigator, two different people at MB both told me downgrading was not a solution because as of next week, they are no longer allow logins through Navigator 10.13.07. They are foring the upgrade.

Are you aware of the mandatory upgrade, and if the newer version of Navigator is causing this prob with Ninja, will there be a fix before MB's forced upgrade next week? If not, how will MB users resolve?

I used Ninja to trade through MB yesterday, but couldn't today. I tried multiple times, but when trying to login it would not load data.

A look in the log shows this error:

Oh, forgot to mention, I was able to open MB Navigator app stand alone and it worked fine. I still am using 10.13.07...

Thanks for reporting. I can't confirm yet but it would seem that MBT changed something in their back office since there had been another report of something similar and I can reproduce an issue with placing orders. This is currently under investigation.

for the past couple days I cannot get my NinjaTrader to execute orders thru my MB account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Ninja several times. Ninja shows tha it is connected and opens up my navigator window correctly but when I try to send an order they never make it to MB.

Is there an error when you place the order? Can you otherwise send an email directly from within NT5 under Help--> Mail to Support. That way we will have the log and can investigate your issue.

Did that yesterday Vince. Here is what is happening as I am away from my trading machine right now. I send a stop limit order for an entry and only part of the order goes live leaving the other contracts in limbo. When the partial order gets filled none of the stops or targest get placed.
