simulated neg stop limit order

When I have an active position with stop order & targets in place, I am trying to place a negative stop limit order between the current price & my stop order. It works for me in sim mode, but the orders just get rejected live. I have SE checked on entry tab, & sim stop checked on stop tab.

SE is not available on scale orders.

I am truely in the dark as to when & how I can use a neg stop limit order. I now understand it doesn't work with scale in orders, but when I put an order in with astop loss order & a profit target that doesn't work either. It defaults to the 2.5 limit order on ER. Do I have to enter an order with a naked, no stop loss order, & then put it in? That's the only way I can think of that I haven't tried.
