What Timezone is ET?

Hi NT,

I am thinking of registering for a webinar but am not sure what is the correct local time to log in. I have to work out the time difference between Brisbane, Australia and ET (I guess Eastern Time).

Could someone please tell me how many hours +/- GMT that ET is, or what is the main city for which ET is related to and I can work out the time diffence myself. Would Chicago fall in ET zone?
