Just upgraded to 5.0.1000.6 and restarted Ninja and now it's coming up with:

Login failed: Unable to login, error 7: Invalid Application License

Any ideas...?

Thanks Guy,

Terribly sorry for the inconvenience. There is an issue just acknoweldged on our end with connecting to Spike.

You will have to roll back to the prior release for now. To do this:

Uninstall the current NT version
download the previous version from www.ninjatrader-support.com/download_download.htm (http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/download_download.htm)
Install.
You should be able to connect.

Thanks for the rapid response Ray - I'll do that now.

Guy,

You might have to delete the database if it does not restart after install.

C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader Version 5\db\ninjatrader.mdb

then restart. You will lose strategies. Again, sorry for this inconvenience.

I have the same problem. I uninstalled the xxxx.6 ver and reinstalled the xxxx.5 and still have the same error message. Using Spke as well. Now what?

NinjaTrader_Ray

Do you mean the same "Invalid Application License" message? If yes then you likely re-installed R6 and not R5. You can verify via Help-->About within NinjaTrader.

The version I installed is 5.0.1000.5. Is that the correct one?

NinjaTrader_Ray

Yes, that is correct. So when you try to connect, you get the 'Invalid Application License" error 7 code in your log window?

Yes.

td: I got mine to work but I deleted the DB as Ray suggested before even starting the ....5 version. Try and delete (or rename) the DB and then try and start it again.

Please do the following:

Start NT
Via the Tools-->Options, Misc tab, set the support email to ray@ninjatrader.com (mailto:ray@ninjatrader.com)
Connect to Spike
Once it fails, via the Help-->Mail to Support, send me a mail message.
Via the Tools-->Options, Misc tab, set the support email back to support@ninjatrader.com (mailto:support@ninjatrader.com)

Thanks

Guy,

That works if you get a start up error, he is getting a connect error which is outside of the dbase.

Thanks for helping out!

Having problem using NT V4.0.43 connecting to Pat Systems - Live Server (Spike) today.

Got the 'Invalid Application License' error message.

It worked fine yesterday.

Have you contact Spike and asked them to set your account up to collect royalties?

I only use basic screen, do I still need to call them?

NinjaTrader_Ray

If you only use Basic Entry screen then you should NOT use 4.0.43. You have to purchase transaction credits with 4.0.43 and then pay for each trade taken even in the Basic Entry screen. If you upgrade to 5.0.1000.7 you will not have this problem and will connect to Spike immediately.
