View Full Version : NT ER2 unable to connect Trade Station
Symbol ER2 in Nt unable to connect with trade Station symbol ER2H06. Done all proper mapping, connecting disconnecting etc. Although stock symbols work. I presume there is a bug in the NT program preventing the data connection for ER2.:X

Nope, ER2 works fine.
a) What mapping do you have established? ER2 does not need any mapping, since the ER2 basename is using in TS and NT identically.
b) Can you get any otehr future like e.g. ES 03-06 working?
c) Please double check that you really did not go for the continous contract in TS.
Dierk you are correct that ER2 basename is same in NT and Trade Station. But in TS to chart ER2, I have to use either continuous contract and the symbol for it is @ER2 and this symbol is incompatible for NT or use monthly contracts. Only choice I have in TS to chart ER2 is to Chart monthly contract, for example ER2H06. Now in NT, I must mapp ER2 to connect with the data ER2H06 so that it may receive data sent by TS. To do that I went in Tools, instrument manager, selected ER2, edit, misc and changed the symbol map external entry from ER2to ER2H06. After doing all this, still no data. Let me know if I have done anything wrong in my steps.
Thank you.
Futures Symbol ES 03-06 in NT works fine without any mapping when it is connected with the Trade Station. In this case Trade Sattion symbol is ESH06. Problem is ER2 in NT, and that is where the little devil bug exists and running rampant.

a) Just revert the mapping back to "factory" settings = ER2 (not ER2H06). NT takes care of the expiry handling.
b) Don't try the continous contract @ER2. It will not work.
I had the factory settings (ER2)and tried to connectbefore changing the settings (to ER2H06). It did not work. As suggested, now I have changed the settings back to ER2 from ER2H06. It does not work. It absolutely refused to work. Are you running Trade Station ? Please try to replicate the problem I am having through your Trade Station. I think problem bug is in digit # 2 in ER2, if I may add, it is very poor basic programming errorin NT. Indeed it is a some sort of programming snafu.
Yes, ES 03-06 works perfectly fine. Note that there is no digit #2 here.

Will look into it as my ER2 subscription on TS as activated.

I just hooked up the "ER2H06" in TS to "ER2 03-06" in NT and received data as expected.
I suggest restoring factory settings by removing the DB (file <install>\db\ninjatrader.mdb>, note: all data will be lost, NT restores DB on startup) and trying again as per documentation.
After deleting .mdb file, Trade Station ER2H06 is working in NT.
Thank you.:D

I, keep geetinthis message on log:data feed error @er2 (mailto:error@er2) continuos contracts not supported" Does this mean that I wont be able to get data from the @er2?

It means that the ER2 continuous contract is not supported. Please use the ER2 March contract.

How do I do that?

ER2H06 ? If this is incorrect, please ask TS support what the March Russell 2000 E-Mini symbol is.

It is possible that your symbol mapping is incorrect. So that I know it is not, I would like you to delete the following file which will reset symbol mapping to factory default.
Shut down NT
C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader Version 5\db\ninjatrader.mdb
Then restart NT
Now follow TS instructions and use the March contract.
