anyone knows why i cant download historical data from Interactive Brokers?
If i load a hughe chunk for backtesting, it says - limit exceeded.
If i try to download slice by slice, i. e. i cant download beyond 01.05.2010 for the 1 min chart, and 2008 for the dily charts - i gt a blanc chart without notification.

Hi,

IB only provides Minute and Daily historical data when connected to your Live account. Perhaps you can connect to your Live account first, then load the data in so you will have it available for backtesting.

In addition, what version of TWS do you have installed? You need to be on TWS 911. This is the only supported version at this time.

I use 916,5

How do I refer NT backtesting to the opened chart in IB?

Hi,

Please uninstall your current TWS version and install 911 from our website.

Not sure what you mean with your backtest question, but you run the backtest based of data in NT.

Please see here for more info and a video:

My IB backtest data is COMPLETELY OFF!!!
I'm using NT7 + TWS 911 (live)
If I compare my realtime chart with the backtest chart, there's a HUGE difference.
I'm talking about two days ago, so nothing special...

Hi Arno,

What happens if you try Tools--> Historical Data manager--> Reload--> Reload All? Does that make a difference?

Otherwise please send a note to support and include screenshots of your charts in NT and IB. In addition, refer to this post.

Thanks Vincent,

It makes no difference.
I just loaded Kinetick data and at least the backtest chart looks allright now.
As soon as I've cooled down, I'll contact support!
