I want to load ICE Brent Crude (COIL@IPE), which is currently not available in NT/ZenFire but it is available in InteractiveBrokers TWS.

So I decided to add it manually in the NT Instrument Manager (see the first attachment), hoping to get the feed directly from IB. However, when I try to load the chart, I received the following error message:

"NinjaTrader data server does not support this instrument, no data available." (See the second attachment.)

Is there any way to fetch the data for COIL via IB?

Hi saliva,

Thanks for your post.

Are you using any other data connections? The IB connection shouldn't be querying the NinjaTrader historical data server.

Hi Kyle,

After reading your post, I disconnected from ZenFire and COIL loaded without a glitch. Thanks for the suggestion.

But I find this problematic. One of the major problems is that IB isn't very reliable and I would prefer to use ZenFire, whenever possible, for all other instruments. How can I be connected to both ZenFire and IB and use ZenFire as the primary source and IB as the secondary for only those symbols that are not available from ZenFire?

Hi saliva,

I'm happy to hear you've worked that issue out.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to define which data feed will be used on an instrument-by-instrument basis. The only way to define which feed data comes from is through connection order - but that won't do the trick in this particular case unless you're able to configure the instrument for use with Zen-Fire as well.
