View Full Version : Failed to download NinjaTrader

I'm trying to install NT, but get the error message "Failed to download Ninjatrader". Installation stops.

My Attempt;
From;
http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/download_download.htm (http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/download_download.htm)
Then, download and Run (setup.exe)

Hello RhinoGG,

I was wondering if you are using highspeed internet when attempting to download NinjaTrader.

If not the download will time out after so long and it will never finish the download.

Please also try clearing internet browser and cache before attmepting to download NinjaTrader again.

I am using high speed access, however it is corporate access, and a login is required when accessing internet sites. I can get to the download page (after supplying my credentials), and the download/setup does begin. But shortly after that I received a failed to download message. Is there an alternate way I can download the installation package?

Hello RhinoGG,

Please send in a note to support at ninjatrader dot com, with your mailing address and we can mail you an installation CD.

I do beleive that a corporate firewall is blocking NinjaTrader access to the internet. You can contact your internet tech about allowing NinjaTrader access to the internet.

I am having the same problem but I am not behind any Corporate firewall. I am wondering how you resolved the problem. Appreciate any info.

My computer was shut down abruptly due to the problems with UPS. After re-startng I am having problems with Ninja Trader.
After re-starting every thing loads properly but when I try to connect to my Brokers(IB), I get this error message.

I tried to download latest version and re-install but I am getting "Failed to Download Error".
Looks like I need alternate download link again. I would appreciate any help.

Hello Brett,

I am still waiting for the resolution of the problem. I even tried to upgrade to NT7.

I get the same error message "Failed to download Ninjatrader".

Last time it happened RyanM sent me an alternate link and I could quickly get NT running.

I would appreciate any help as soon as possible.

During our business hours which are about to close, if you dont get a response in 15 minutes in most cases then you are missing my email or something got lost.

You got the following response from Ryan:

Hello,

Thank you for your note.

The error message indicates an issue with the database. Please follow the steps below to rename your database.
Please rename your database.
To rename the DB:

Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> DB--> NinjaTrader.mdb.
Right click on NinjaTrader.MDB and select "Rename."
Name it "OLDNinjaTrader.MDB."
Then restart the software.


Also, I sent the following note:

Can you please send me your trace files for today so I can look into this. I will need both files attached to a return email.
You can find these files at the following locations, please attach these to a return email as an attachment
My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Trace--> trace.20101213 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)
My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20101213 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)


Please follow ryans instructions first as he was able to look into your trace files. I did not have the trace files at the time you sent the second note you only included a screenshot.

I have the same problem with installing NT after running "setup.exe". This is the new installation of NT on one of my PCs.

Hello,

Most likely the download is corrupted and needs your cookies and cache to be cleared in yor web browser.

However if you send me a note with your email to support at ninjatrader dot com and reference this forum post and put ATTN: Brett in the subject line I will send you a direct download link that will also resolve the issue.

Hi, I am not able to get Ninja trader to load. I have it downloaded but when I try to activate I get a message telling me I have 2 Ninja running. I can see neither . Thanks
I have deleted and tried to reinstall.

Hi topcat275,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader support forum.

Please click CTRL + ALT + DELETE, then open the Windows Task Manager.
In the Task Manager, navigate to the Processes tab.
In the Processes tab, select 'NinjaTrader.exe', then press End Process.

You should then be able to restart NinjaTrader.

i have found 1 solution

please check ur anti virus it must be blocking NT

I have granted to allow NT in anti virus

u 2 doo that its working
