Hello

There's a bug in the Super Dom's Instrument Menu:
I recently switched from 6E 12-10 to 6E 03-11 in the Instrument Manager
and made sure to remove the 6E 12-10 contract from the Instrument Manager List but it still appears in the Dom's Instrument List.

This issue has already been addressed here:
http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/forum/showthread.php?t=30428&highlight=laocoon

I still encounter the problem (again with the 6E contract), so I thought it was worth bringing it up again.

Thanks

Hello laocoon,

Can you please tell me what exact steps you performed upon switching from 6E 12-10 to 6E 03-11. I rolled over the 6E instrument on my end as well, however I do not display the 6E 12-10 anymore in the SuperDOM.

What happens if you add the 6E 12-10 to your default instrument list again. Is it still reflected in the SuperDOM? If you now remove it again from your default instrument list, does it still remain in the SuperDOM?

Hi Jason

Exact Steps:
1. Add 6E 03-11 to the left-hand column in the Instrument Manager
2. Remove 6E 12-10 from the left-hand column in the Instrument Manager
3. Close Instrument Manager.

"What happens if you add the 6E 12-10 to your default instrument list again. Is it still reflected in the SuperDOM? If you now remove it again from your default instrument list, does it still remain in the SuperDOM?"

=> Yes and Yes.

Hello laocoon,

Unfortunately I do not experience the issue if I perform these steps on my end.

Can you please try the following. Please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab and click Repair DB.

Restart NinjaTrader and check if the instrument is still reflected.

Hi Jason

In fact I did a "Reset DB" earlier today and restarted Ninja, but the problem still remains. Does it still make sense to do a Repair after a Reset?

Thanks

Likely, repairing the database will not make a difference in that case.

Unfortunately I will need a reproducible scenario in order to further troubleshoot the issue.

You could try an uninstall/re-install of NinjaTrader as per the instructions below.

Create a backup file to save all saved settings and data.
http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt7/creating_a_backup_archive.htm

Uninstall NinjaTrader 7 via the Windows Control Panel-->Add/Remove Programs (XP), Programs and Features (Vista).

Delete the (My) Documents-->NinjaTrader 7 folder. Do not(!) delete the NinjaTrader Backup folder.

Clear your browser cache and download and install NinjaTrader 7 at the link below.
http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/download_trading_software.htm

Before restoring your backup file, please start NinjaTrader and check if the 6E 12-10 is reflected in the SuperDOM.

If not, please restore the backup file and check again.

Don't do that. Close your DOM, and open it back up again.
It will fix it. This is a problem i reported a long time ago, never been fixed.

Thanks for your reply. I had also thought of that and I tried it a couple of times but it doesn't work on my end.

Just for the record, I have the same problem with YM 12-10 showing up in my DOM even though it's not added in the left column of my instrument manager. The only way to get rid of it is to open and close the instrument manager.
