Been using NT latest version for a while.
Today I have a problem connecting to IB.
I first connect to eSignal and then connect to InteractiveBrokers but the status window for IB stays as "Connecting - InteractiveBrokers".
I uninstalled NT and re-installed but the error persists.
What is the solution pls?

Hi Momentom,
Does the same thing happens when you connect to IB prior to eSignal? Can you try this.
What version of TWS do you have installed? You need to be on TWS Standalone 875.3
Also make sure you have set up the connection correctly:

I'm on TWS 877.8 and its been OK since I upgraded to it.
If I connect to IB first, its OK. But I need eSig data.

Please downgrade to TWS 875.3 since this is officially the supported version at this time.
Then connect to eSignal first and secondly to IB.
Let me know if the roll back does the trick.

Rolled back. No difference.

Hi:
1. Start Interactive Broker’s TWS (Traders Workstation)
2. From the “ConfigureAPI” menu, make sure the following options are checkmarked:
a. Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients
b. Download Open Orders on Connection
c. Fire openOrder on status change
3. Now, with IB TWS already open, please open NT and attempt to connect. You should receive an Incoming message window, click 'Yes'.
Are you now able to connect?

I checked all your points but no cigar.
You're missing the point!!!!!
I CAN connect in position 1 but not in position2 after eSignal has connected. Not a TWS problem.
The problem is in NT. I tried connecting to another remore TWS on my network and the NT behaviour is identical so its an NT problem.
I need to fix this without blowing NT away completely as I have a number of licensed add-ons that would be a pain to re-install.
What now?

This exact same problem happened again.
Last time I rolled back to a previous version and then re-installed current version. This fixed the problem.
However, this time, I have done the same fix, twice, and I still cannot connect to Interactive Brokers after I have connected to eSignal. I can still connect to IB if its my first connection.

Momentom,
We released V6.0.1000.6 today. This version is compatible with TWS Standalone 877. Can you please upgrade to this version and then also upgrade your TWS. Now see if you can connect.

No, I'm not giving you access to my IB account. The IB account is not an issue anyway as I can connect to it if I connect first before eSignal.

Two more uninstall and re-install with re-boots between steps and the problem is fixed. I lost half a day's trading so it would be useful to find the cause. Its getting to be more trouble than its worth.
