Trouble finding FX pairs in IB

Hello - I have just purchased NT, and would like to find the GBPUSD and USDJPY spot currency pairs for day trading in the instrument manager.

I can't find them!!! Am I missing something?

Who are you connected to? You can only get currencies through GAIN Capital/Forex.com or eSignal.

I can trade the Cash FX in my IB account using the following symbol:

GBP.USD-IDEALPRO-CASH

How do I show this in NinjaTrader?

Ali,

FX trading is not supported through IB. You can only use IB for Futures, Equities and Indices.
We only support GAIN/Forex.com and eSignal for FX.

However if you have an account with GAIN, you can trade FX Live for free.

I hate to be awkward, but I'm pretty sure IB *does* allow you to trade Forex.

Yes, IB does support FX. What we are saying is that trading FX at IB using NinjaTrader is *NOT* supported.

We support GAIN Capital for FX trading currently and do not support anyone else.

OK - do you plan to support IB for Forex? It seems a little unfair that you only support one broker when there are plenty of other brokers out there who do FX as well.

Hmmm.....this is not ideal. Sorry for being direct, but Ninjatrader is a great piece of software, but this "exclusive deal" with GAIN gives you black marks...

I also aspire that NT supports IB's Forex trading with Dynamic Super DOM.

Now, only Button Trader supports IB's FX with DOM. If NT can support it, NT will be a strong competitor of Button Trader.

I agree, the exclusive deal with Gain will in the near future damage NinJa

I implement right now for a lot of (potential Ninja customer ...) trading system for the forex (private banking in switzerland) but ALL customer are working with IB, so if NinJa don't offer the possibility to work the forex with IB we simply will looking for another solutions ...

but maybe NinJa are simply not interesting to get new customer

FX through IB is part of NT 6.5 which is in beta and expected to be in production within the next month or so.

Is it possible to get historical minute and daily data for forex provided by IB in the beta version? Is it sure, that forex trading with IB will be possible in NT 7, because I think about purchasing a lifetime license.

Yes, this data is supported but only in your Live account.

Also IB FX is already supported since the release of Beta 6.5.0.5. The current Beta release is V6.5.0.9
