Ove Sentlig, is folder sharing turned off and have you installed NT7 on a non network drive here?

Hi,
folder sharing is on and the install is local, C: in Windows

Ok, thanks then please try without folder sharing enabled.

OK, did that. Got a really weird error message (see attachment):
The folder path 'My Documents' contains an invalid character
I got this same error when doing a Repair install and when doing an Uninstall. Neither actions works. I can't see anything wrong with the path. Any ideas?

Can you try a right click on the MyDocuments folder > Properties and then select 'Restore Default'? Would that help?

No problem
What files do you want and where can I find them?

Hi Ove Sentlig,
You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
The log file will be named log.YYYYMMDD.txt
You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
The trace file will be named trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

No such folders on this machine, no such files either.
Obviously the install process was interrupted at an early stage.

Hello,
Theres nothing wrong with the file path as you have pasted it into the forum. Are you sure this is the file path reported for Window for the my documents folder?
If so then at this point its unclear what the issue is. Since this is on a VM, I would suggest reinstalling your Windows on the VM and then turning off folder sharing and makeing sure this is off.
Then try the install again, the only thing I can think of is something corrupted with this path due to the VM, which shouldnt be the case and a reload of windows would do the trick in this case.

I reverted to the Windows Restore Point before the first NT install attempt, and then made double sure Shared Folders were off. Then the install worked! Thanks for your help!
