View Full Version : Problems with installing RC1
Hello
After I installed RC1, I noticed that the 64 bit version of NT was missing. For some reason the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin64 is empty. So I uninstalled the application and re-installed it. Results were the same. Furthermore none of the NT7 out of the box scripts such as EMA or SMA was installed!
Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
Scratch the second issue as it is resolved and it was due to NT7 being installed from the Administrator account. However the absence of NT 64 bit still remains as an issue.

Kyle
When I click on the NinjaTrader executable in C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin\X64 directory, I receive the 'NinjaTrader application has stopped working' error from Windows. It appears that:
1) The 64 bit executable is corrupt.
2) The installation script does not place an icon for the 64 bit executable on the desktop.
These are not major issues as the 32 bit version of NT runs just fine. However please forward this problem to the development team so it can be resolved in RC2.
Thanks in advance.

Hi svrz,
Please proceed as per my last post once again - I'll need to take a look at the trace file in order to determine what error has occurred.

I just upgraded to NT7 RC1 and I don't see the 64 bit exe nor does my old 64 bit shortcuts work. How do I launch 64 bit NT 7?
Thank you.

Look in the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin\X64 and run NinjaTrader.exe. Please report back if you encounter any errors.

Thanks, dday1231. I received the exact same error when I ran the NinjaTrader.exe in the X86 directory.
Josh has advised us to backup the NT files, delete the NinjaTrader7 directory in the Documents directory and re-install RC1. I have not done that yet.

I still dont understand why the upgrade did not work, but 64 bit NT 7 build 23 now works after I uninstalled the previous NT program, and deleted the NinjaTrader 7 Program Files folder and then installed the NT7 build 23 again. I did not touch the Documents and Settings files.
After the second install there were actually files in C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin64 whereas after the upgrade this folder was empty, which is why I could not launch 64 bit NT. So maybe there is an outstanding issue with NT7 upgrades or I had a custom file in the Program Files folder that caused the upgrade to explode.
I hope you can find a solution soon.
Best,

I duplicated your steps and now the the NT 64 bit icon is on the desktop.
Thanks and take care.

I had to delete the NT folder in 'my documents' and delete the NT folder in 'program files'.
Then I installed b.23 and it worked. After the install I had to restore my backup (workspaces, ninja script, etc.)
