View Full Version : Rollover, Charting, and Automated

My problems started with the rollover of YM to 12-07.
I've re-installed NT also.

I use MB Trading, and have used automated strategies for the last month.

I can connect to MB trading fine, MB Nav window gives me time & sales, and LVL2 data for YM.

I cannot chart YM 12-07 (no inflow of tick data) nor does my strategy re-act when set to YM 12-07.

Did I somehow corrupt the Master Instrument YM, I checked all the settings... but perhaps that's it?

Re-install did not change my instrument lists to default (1st download). I was hoping to go back to beginning and rollover to 12-07 contract again.

Any ideas?

Are you on an MBT demo account? If so, then your demo account still is on the Sep contracts and does not yet support the Dec contracts. Please contact MBT on when they roll their contracts on the demo account.

No, this is not a demo account.
I can get the YM 12-07 quote and time & sales fine when manually type /YMZ7 in the MB Nav window.

Is there a way to re-install and have the default instruments that come with NT? I'm convinced I screwed up something in EDIT or Rollover with Instrument Manager.

Please try this:
- terminate NT
- copy <program files>/NinjaTrader6/db/Instrument.txt to <my documents>/NinjaTrader6/db/Instrument.txt
- restart NT

All instrument settings are restored to default. Instruments added manually are maintained.

Ok. I did that. That did give me the default settings, so I know the Instruments are correct.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I cannot get any default instrument for 12-07 to chart.
I'm using 1 min candlesticks, just like last month.

Off to work, be back after 5pm EST.

Thanks for your help, I'll spend tonight checking my chart settings.
Perhaps I've changed something accidentally.

Perhaps you all have fixed some bugs today.. if so, then well done.
This evening I could initially get only Globex instrument quotes/charts/ticks. YM (my main trading vehicle) still would not show any ticks on chart. So I was convinced it was a ECbot problem, but at least I could get ES and NQs... I couldn't this morning/last night.
I read some other posts/advice, so I Repaired DB, and rebooted computer.

That fixed it.

When in doubt, Repair Database and Reboot I guess.
