Hi,
i have updated/added a set of stocks in my office NT. I want to transfer/copy this list at my home computer. i really do not want to redo the whole thing again. How do I get the same set of instruments from my office pc to home pc.
thanks,

Manish

Hi Manish:

Unfortunately, these newly created instruments must be re-created onto your second computer manually.

Currently, the NT application does not have an “export from current DB to instruments.txt” to import that customized instrument.txt on to a second PC.

I will add to our list of possible future enhancements to the NT application, an option to have this available.

Best regards,

I have manually added about 700 stocks in my office NT. There is no way I can copy that instruments.txt file and get the entire database on my home pc. This is so sad.....

Hi Knightrider123:

I can understand your frustration in setting up 700 instruments and then having to repeat this function on a new pc.

I spoke to our development team and a work around would be to copy over your existing database and replace the newly built database on your second computer.

Please click on the link below for the correct directories on where to retrieve, copy and replace.

Hi:

Also, as a side note, when you copy to the second pc, please do this after launching NT.

Go to Tools > Options > Misc tab and choose 'Reset DB' to clear out any old items that are no longer needed on the second pc.

This procedure will help with transferring the db from one pc to another pc.

Is the transfer of an instrument list still so complicated?

Or did this process improve?

Thanks

Hello timokrates,

The same process will need to be used at this time. I will forward this to our development team for future considerations and enhancements.
