I am building a multi timeframe strategy and am getting the following error with a simple formula.

No Overload for method "EMA" takes "3" Agruments.

The formula is as follows:

double longExit1 = 0;
longExit1 = EMA(BarsArray[2], High, maLongUpper)[0];

The error seems a bit odd because the 1st argument is simply the period type that has already been added in the Initialize() section. The second argument is simply the input for the EMA (High) and the 3rd is simply the length of the EMA.

If I remove the High reference, everthing compiles, but then I assume I the EMA is referencing it's default input (close) rather than the desired input (High).

If I remove the BarsArray[2] argument, everything compiles, but then the longExit1 target is pulling data from the wrong BarsArray for the strategy.

I am puzzled why this won't compile.

Thanks in advance for your help!

As you can see by the editor intellisense, the EMA only takes two arguments: a series and a period value.

Please try:
longExit1 = EMA(Highs[2], maLongUpper)[0];

Note: This requires that your strategy runs on 3 series.

Got it ... Thank you for the clarity.
