Can Ninjatrader chart the Spyder SPY

Can ninjatrader chart the SPY since it is not a future. Is ninja trader only for futures? I have been using zenfire and know that this is futures only, do I just need a different data feed and then I will be able to chart the SPY or the S&P index at least? Also, are there any free live data feeds like zenfire that could do this charting. Thanks to whoever answers.

Hello,

If you are using one of the supported providers, you can chart anything they support on NT.

Your subsciption must support the data though. Check with your feed company.
The easiest way to add an instrument and have all of the settings correct for your broker is to do this:
Please delete any instruments you have added by going to Tools>Instrument Manager>select the instrument you added on the master list on the right>Delete.
Now:
- Open a DOM
- Type the symbol of the instrument into the instrument field
- Press Enter on your keyboard. This adds the instrument to your master list in the Instrument Manager, it is call on-the-fly.
- Now follow this link to add the instrument your Default list:

If the exchange is not on the list of exchanges we can show you how to add a new exchange as well.

I'm in the same boat as Joshua. With beta 18, I've been successfully connecting to my brokerage account via Zen-Fire day after day after day. Today I received the "Login failed" message. I tried building a new account connection using the same (valid!) parameters but got the same error message. And like Joshua, I have no connection problems using 6.5!!

There was an issue and that has been solved now. If you restart you should be able to connect again.
