I'm wondering about the lack of security with Ninja Trader. I'm new to the software and it seems that the password/login information is stored on your computer and there is no way to force it to ask you to enter it on each run.

This is a definite security risk if a laptop is ever stolen. Someone could trade your account down to zero. And since windows login password are not exactly the most secure thing in the world- I'm wondering about another solution.

Where is the password/login stored for Ninjatrader? Is that in the registry or in the installation folder somewhere? I'm hoping it is in the installation folder. If so, I can install the software on an encrypted drive.

Rick

p.s. Please make this an option in future versions!!!

Hi lookOutBelow,

In the case your computer is lost of stolen, contact your broker immediately to halt your trading account or reset your credentials.

The Account Connections info is stored at "Documents>NinjaTrader 6.5>Config"

Thanks for the reply. Can we move that folder and somehow tell NT where it is?

Could you put this (password requirement on each run) option on the wish list for future versions?

Hi lookOutBelow,

Unfortunately, doing so is outside of the scope of support I can offer.

If it is not inconvenient to you, can you please post all of you suggestions to - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11

Unfortunately, doing so is outside of the scope of support I can offer.

Is this in response to moving the "NinjaTrader 6.5>Config" to another location?

Thanks

Hi,

The support we are able to offer is for the default installation. However, if you are moving the NinjaTrader 6.5 folder then the setup would be outside the support we can offer due to the operating system level steps necessary.
