Display of past TICK data

Hello,
I am new with NT and couldn't find an answer to following question:
I am using TICK data for my active trading - usually 355 Ticks.
Intervall Settings is set to 355 Ticks (bars ??) Range settings 500 bars back.
My data feed is from Interactive Brokers.

I got tick data but only from the time I opened the chart. At this moment I would like to see the 355 Ticks and ticks which occured 500 bars before.

With IB this is to be expected since they do not offer historical tick data. Please see the following link.

This means that NinjaTrader will display only incoming tick data. That incoming data is stored in the database for backfilling on subsequent days.

However, if historical tick data that is not from times when you are connected only is needed you will want to get a data feed that does offer historical tick data. I have included information below on how to obtain discounted rates and free trials from the following datafeed providers.

Thank you for your fast response. That was my assumption but wasn't sure.

Solution is definitively using another data feed but since I am with IB it is not the best one for me.
Work around could be starting it in the morning and let NT run until market opens so that ticks are filled during the pre market hours. hmmmm...

Does anyone know whether IB will provide TICK data in the near future?

Hi,

Those links I provided are for data only providers that can be used in tandem with IB. They would provide only the historical data, while IB would still be the broker. Please see the link below.

As for whether IB will offer tick data I would recommend you speak with IB because I am not aware of any impending changes, or perhaps another forum user knows.

Thanks. Tried that with eSignal which is my actual data provider. Connecting to eSignal says
"Login failed: Unable to connect to level2 host"

Any idea?

This occurs when your eSignal account is not entitled for level 2 (market depth) data. You must change your eSignal account connection in NinjaTrader by performing the following steps.


From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Account Connections
Select your eSignal connection and press the "Change" button
Press the "Next" button several times until you reach the screen wich holds your eSignal account information
Remove all text from the field "Level II server host" so that it is blank
Press the "Next" button and then the "Finish" button
Restart NinjaTrader and connect to your eSignal account
