Hi,

I'm using NT 6.5 with IB data. In general I have two workspaces running with several forex pairs and stocks. So when I start NT and the chart update progresses, I always run into the IB data limitation message, which keeps popping up over and over again.

Is there a "smarter" way or workaround to avoid this problem, so that all charts will be updated in a "clean" way? At a point I always have to abort the update process and afterwards load the data for the remaining data manual, which is really annoying.

Thanks

Hello timokrates,

I suggest to clarify the data limitation with IB to check how much historical data can be loaded before you experience the error. Subsequently create workspaces that meet this amount of data and that do not exceed it.

Once you start NinjaTrader make sure only one workspace is opened and connect to IB. Wait 5 minutes and open up your second workspace and so on.

Unfortunately this data limitation comes from IB and there is no other workaround.

Yes, thanks.
Thought about this option as well.
Just wanted to ask if there is another more "elegant" way.

Thanks for your help.

You should try NinjaTrader 7. Although it also has to comply with IB data throttling, it has two advantages over NT 6.5.:

- you can easily load data via the historical data manager before opening your workspaces
- in case data throttling occurs, it does not crash

In fact, I have always had problems with NT 6.5 loading backfill, but I am quite happy with NT 7.0
