This mean you are trying to connecto TWS but TWS refused the connection. Please set up TWS as per here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/support_interactivebrokers.htm

thats what i did orginally. It used to work, only stopped working when i tried to go on it today...

Please reinstall TWS. It looks like there are some TWS registry keys missing.

I run the java version off the IB website, i've never downloaded the TWS directly. However i'm just about to install windows vista, so i'll try after that to see if it works then

This is not recommend. We only recommend the stand alone version.

Note: You need to install TWS as admin on your Vista machine.

Is it still in the logs or no? If no, what is then the actual problem?

it won't let me connect to my data feed saying that the connection was refused by the server

Interactive brokers. I have doubled checked, i even formatted my computer and resintalled a new windows. Still not working....
