View Full Version : Displaced moving averages

I see that in NT you can offset a moving average to the left or right. When you offset them to the right, is there a way to see the part of the average that is to the right (future) of the current price bar. Example: You create SMA that is offset 5 bars to the right. There should be 5 bars of average past the current bar. How can I get this to be shown? Am I missing some setting or is this something that NT cannot currently do?
Thanks,
Greg

Hello ggloor:
Thank you for your post and checking our Support Forum.
The plotting of indicators past the current bar on your chart is currently not supported.
I will add this suggestion to our list of possible future enhancements to the NT 6 charting application.

I second that request.
Bill Williams' "Alligator" signal works in part by comparing price trend angle with right displaced MAs. Unless all of the displaced MA is visible this indicator does not fully function.

I think I remember this being mentioned for NT7 but I'll third the request anyway. :)
It would also help the 'DMA Channel' (http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/vb/local_links.php?action=jump&id=107&catid=1) indicator I posted work better and Ichimoku Kinko Yuo is pretty much useless without being able to paint past the current bar...
