Nicely done, uacvax! Good to see TRO's work lives on in another platform. Good demonstration of the power and the "customizing" capabilities of the C#.NET based NinjaScript.

UACVAX nice job on the converion, may I ask of another addition to the code for the TRO psms indicator.
Basicly it is another color. if there is not a reasonable amout of seperation between the MA's then the the additional color would show a caution signal.

a similar code ois below and a picture to show what I am trying to say.

I'm not a TRO indicators user but, at least, I want to thank you for the generous help you provide newbies as myself with, in learning NinjaScript language.

uacvax,

You continue to impress me. Thanks for your continued contributions. Couple of questions: Is there documentation on how to use these indicators? Secondly, are you familiar with the TTM indicators from John Carter? I've seen versions of his squeeze indicator for esignal and tradestation. I was curious if you are able to convert?

NinjaTrader_Josh
08-09-2007, 02:58 AM
pdawg: I don't provide documentation on these indicators since I am still trying to learn to use them effectively myself. To get you started you should read the now defunct Trend Indicator thread that was on TradeStation. Go to kreslik.com and search for "TradeStation Blocked the Trend Thread". Its a long read though. 100 pages. If you have any specific questions I can try and answer them, but I am by no means an expert to TRO's indicators.

As far as TTM, I have not dealt with it before, but would be glad to take a look. If you could email me the source code I'll see what I can do. Be warned though, I might not get around to it in a timely manner because I am currently in development of a strategy for myself.

The squeeze is actually a nice strategy, that I have not used for some time (been trying other methods) forgive the picture, I do not have the etting on the bands as Herbert Senters describes, but you shoud get the idea.

The strategy behind the Squeeze is when the Keltner chanel goes inside the Bollinger bands then breaks out. The photo shows the results. This can be used on any timeframe of course the higher the timeframe the larger your stop must be

If you like I will go back over Senters course and post the correct settings for the bands

Hello uacvax,

Many thanks for all your efforts on the conversion of the TRO indicators.
One indicator I have found useful is TRO's $highfive efs and was wondering if you could convert this so I could use it in NinjaTrader.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BC5391: I am just uploading my images to tinypic.com first. Then I use the "Insert Image" button in the top of the wysiwyg editor.

Eric M: I am unfamiliar with the highfive indicator. Perhaps you could provide some pictures of it in action and describe it a little bit for me? It makes understanding code a lot quicker when I know what the end result looks like beforehand.

Hello uacvax,

I've attached a chart with TRO's version of $highfive. The original version monitored MER rather than the current futures contract.
Here is a link for an explanation of it's use.

Whats the difference between $highfive and $highfive2? I'm guessing you want $highfive2?

Eric M.
08-10-2007, 01:00 AM
Highfive2 is just a cut down version of the original version.
I would prefer the highfive version and would it be possible to edit the indexes in the indicator panel so that other indices can be monitored ?
Many thanks.

I don't believe we can load multiple instruments into one chart at the moment. You're going to end up needing to load several charts and stack them like how I stacked the TRO_SM_Trend indicator. At least this way you have the choice of whatever instrument to track though. I'll see what I can do.

Edit: Actually I was just looking at the source code for $highfive. All the text are done pretty statically. This is turning to be quite troublesome.

TRO_Dynamic_FibsSR2L and TRO_Dynamic_FibsSR2U

http://kreslik.com/forums/userpix/2138_TRO_Dynamic_FibsSRLU_v100_1.png

"There are new TRO DYNAMIC FIBS SR indicators:
TRO DYNAMIC FIBS SR2U and TRO DYNAMIC FIBS SR2L.
SR2U displays the "-" and dots in the price pane.
SR2L displays the PMSM dots. Cyan go long, Magenta go short, Yellow stop out of trade.

There are 2 new inputs:
iMaxStop - is the maximum amount you want to risk. If the difference between the trigger and the stop is greater than the max stop, the trade trigger will not show because it's more than your risk amount.
iSROffset - is a "fudge" factor. If the price is within iSROffset range of dynamic support/resistance it's as good as a touch. This allows the trade entry trigger to trip earlier in some cases." -TRO

TRO_SM_CandleColor2

http://i13.tinypic.com/6gybs6w

This indicator lets you view the latest candles of multiple time frames very easily. You no longer need to clutter your screen with 5 charts just to see what the latest candle looks like on a certain time frame.

You can also set how many historical dots you want plotted.

P.S. I will be redoing my previous TRO_SM_* indicators to use my latest plotting method. Before when you scrolled backwards the indicator wouldn't update to reflect the past. In the CandleColor2 indicator you can scroll wherever you want and the indicator will display the correct values for what you are seeing on the chart at that moment.

Edit: The updates are complete. Grab them on page1.

uacvax, this is some great stuff. The Dynamic Fibs is at least educational.

I tried checking the referenced site, but there is so much going on with TRO that it's tough to tell if there is a strategy guide.

Can you point me to something there?

NinjaTrader_Josh

Do a search for the Trend Thread on that site. That's as close to a guide as it gets.

goldfly
08-21-2007, 08:50 PM
The "Trend Thread". You mean "TradeStation blocked the TREND thread"?

Ok got that. Downloaded the files you put up there. That's still a pretty big chaw......

Oho! So now it's Josh, the Certified NinjaScript Expert. Congatulations.

Does this mean we'll be the recipients of even more cool and useful indicators by your hand? If so, let me make some requests.......

How about the :

Volume Spread LRG (That's based on the NYSE) (Page 91)

Although it's meant for the TS Radar is there a way to adapt the
SLOT MACHINE MOMENTUM INDICATOR (Also on page 91)?

SM_TREND_MIDDLE (Page 90)

SMAA_VolumeAvg (Page 89)

There be more, I'm sure. I'm working my way backwards in the thread.

Thanks.

Thank you for your kind words goldfly. At the moment I have a lot of other personal projects I am working on, but I will definitely find some free time in the future to convert those indicators also. Hopefully sooner then later. Glad you find the work useful, but the thanks should really be placed on TRO who the indicators originated from.

TRO_SM_Control_PMSM6
http://i11.tinypic.com/644wbav.png

"How I use TRO_SM_CONTROL_PMSM6:
The Major/Minor daily is the row that dictates which way to trade.
If buyer/buyers then I look to buy.
If seller/sellers then I look to short.
If Major and Minor disagree... I WAIT. NO TRADING.
Then, I look at the 60 minute row. Same rules as daily.
If I am a buyer and the 1/5/15 rows all say seller, I know the buyers will be pushing the sellers back soon.
When I see the price stop moving at DYNAMIC SUPPORT, then I buy.
When I see the price stop at dynamic resistance and the sellers take control on the 1 or 5, I sell.
This is so simple it's not funny.
All you have to do is follow the rules.

Focus on:
1) who's in control ?
2) is price at/near dynamic s/r " -TRO

This may be a dumb question. I got this indicator, compiled it and put it on a chart. But, I just get one row for the timeframe of the chart in question. How the heck did you get the chart where it shows multiple time frames in one window?

NinjaTrader_Josh
08-23-2007, 04:53 PM
They are multiple charts stacked on top of each other. Each chart is set to a different time interval.

Gumphrie
09-01-2007, 05:30 PM
I applied some multi timeframe code I've created to TRO's Control PMSM and made it go to a seperate window to create the desired effect.

Note for this to work you must only apply it to a 1 minute chart with enough data to cover the daily and weekly periods. I haven't done monthly as I believe that is not required and besides its probably too much overhead.

Also, don't try adding it more than once per instrument as it will automatically close any other windows with the same name. It also helps to either minimise it when you are not using it or to minimise the chart when you don't want that. This helps to avoid it having to repaint itself all the time when you are scrolling through a chart.

http://www.acuclick.net/TRO_Control.jpg

ChangeLog :

v1.01 - Changed 4th September so updates without the chart being visible.
The change means you can't scroll backwards through a chart looking at historical results, so have made the option to return to the old mode into a parameter.
Have also optimised the lookups to make it fast enough to cope with this new mode without locking up the cpu. Gives overall better performance.

Are the candle colors suppose to be the same color as the history dots. Please take a look at the daily. and minute.

NinjaTrader_Josh
09-06-2007, 02:18 PM
Nope. TRO Control's historical dots do not correspond with candle color. The CandleColor2 history does though. In TRO Control, the dots correspond with the Major & Minor columns. If both are red the dot will be red. If both are green the dot is green. If they differ then the dot is yellow.

You can sort of duplicate this with Market Analyzer but you need a different window for each of the five. Then you can set alerts on the various thresholds.

Thanks TheRumpledOne for the original indicator and Josh for converting it to Ninja.

Do you know if there is any "TRO Plot" indicator for Ninja, using which one can plot the HOD,LOD (and update them dynamically as new HOD and LOD form) and the midpoint between the HOD and LOD.

Thanks

I haven't converted any, but you could do one yourself through the use of the CurrentDayOHL().

Do something like
currentHigh.Set(CurrentDayOHL().CurrentHigh[0]);
currentLow.Set(CurrentDayOHL().CurrentLow[0]);
currentMid.Set(currentLow[0] + (currentHigh[0] - currentLow[0]) / 2);

this indicator seems very nice. Thanks to all the people that spent some time on it!

I have one doubt, if I used it with a live update (not at bar close) the trends used to change very quickly in different timeframes. Does this make sense?

Well I think the targetst that most traders use are the pivots and halfpivots, most of the time they also agree with fib extensions so using them as targets is generally not a bad idea.

The reason why i like the battlelines indicator is because they display not just pivots but midpivots, so like the trade the markets indicator:
http://www.tradethemarkets.com/products/item8.cfm
its shows you clearly where those pivot lines are...

Changelog:
v1.01 - Improved the painting method of the Buy Zones

Josh,
I have a copy of the Hourly Buyzone but would like to see if you or someone could make the hourly zone "editable" to a half-hourly zone. I have a copy of a "CurrentHourOHL" file but am unable to modify it yet.
I'm attaching what I've tried so far but the plot so far is identical to the hourly file.
Thanks for any help or direction you can give.

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible but maybe someone can confirm. I was looking at TRO PMSM trend indicator and wondered if it was possible to modify this so I can reference values from other timeframes?

I seem to remember that this isn't possible unless within a strategy .. so in other words I can't do it?

Just thinking that there are probably a number of applications for this e.g. close above/below midpoint, Heikin Ashi colours/rotations etc that might be interesting to see in one indicator showing multiple timeframes.

Can anyone advise or confirm if it is or isn't possible?
thanks

To import:

- Download the file contained in this thread to your desktop
- From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Import NinjaScript
- Select the downloaded file

The indicator is corrupted in NJ 6.5
Anyone can modify it ?

Hi, thanks for a great job converting all these indicators.

I've been playing around with them and I have a question regarding DynamicSR and DynamicFib.
When you do:

int HH = Bars.HighestBar(Period-1);
if(High[0]==High[HH] || DynamicR==0)
DynamicR=High[HH];

Is that the right way, or should we use:

DynamicR = MAX(High,Period)[0];

The end result is slightly different, and I'm not sure which one was the original expected behaviour.

Thanks,
J.

I have the buyzone strategy scripted and ready for trading that i am willing to share but i will like experienced ninjatrader programmers to add/tweak it to run how it should. I currently have it to scale out of positions and set trailing stops. Also, it moves stop to breakeven after 5+ pt gain (i set it for futures) but that can all be changeable. when i load the strategy it doesnt trade when its suppose to and doesnt exit when its suppose to. also i am interested in setting a parameter where it would stop trading after -$500 loss for the day.. please reply to his msg if you are interested and understands ninja coding... once the strategy is done i will load it for all to use

The indicator in message # 77 is not a Ninjascript based indicator.. it is an "eld" or Tradestation script based indicator.. that is why it won't work with your NinjaTrader charting. The person in that message was attempting to provide an example of a Tradestation indicator that a programmer might convert if they so desired.

winja
08-12-2010, 09:42 PM
I have modified the BuyZone code as follows:

In place of the original code here:
longtop = CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0]+spread+buyzone;
longbot = CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0]+spread;
shorttop = CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0]-spread;
shortbot = CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0]-spread-buyzone;

I have changed the code as follows:
// Current bar opening price
double barOpenPrice = Open[0];

longtop = Open[0]+spread+buyzone;
longbot = Open[0]+spread;
shorttop = Open[0]-spread;
shortbot = Open[0]-spread-buyzone;

This works fine if I place it on a 60 min chart to get the hourly BuyZone. Is there another way it could be coded to give the hourly BuyZone on a 3 min chart. Thanks in advance. winja

NinjaTrader_Bertrand
08-13-2010, 03:03 AM
winja, in our NinjaTrader 7 beta you could code a MultiSeries indicator out of this, so you have access to the 60 min bars from the 3 min chart, this was possible only in strategies for NinjaTrader 6.5, however the same coding wise concepts would apply now for NT7 -
