Hi,
I had to restart NT during the session today (Friday 03.05.2010) and when I reconnected to Mirus Zen-Fire I had a gap in my data. I'm using 10-minute charts and it appeared that the gap was 30 minutes (0930CST-1000CST) but when I change it to 1-minute, the gap is actually closer to 0927CST-0955CST.
This is the same across all of my charts (6E, 6B, GC, YM, NQ, TF, and ES), and it only took a minute to restart NT so I'm assuming it's something weird on my end. I didn't however restart my computer (I'm hesitant to do that now because I don't want any more gaps!), I only restarted NT.
I've reloaded historical data a number of times but the gap hasn't resolved itself.
Is there anything else I can do to recover and re-display that span of data? Or is there actually missing data on the historical server? Would simply restarting my computer resolve it?
Thanks in advance,
-AT

Hi Attitude Trader,
Unfortunately, there was a brief outage of the historical data server this morning. This issue has been resolved, however, you are correct that there is data missing for that time period.

Ok, thanks Tim.
I have "Store real-time bar data" selected in Tools > Options > Data > General > Miscellaneous. Does that mean that I have that missing data with the exception of the period during my restart of NT?
If so, can I make that display on my charts?

Hi AT,
Thank you for your reply.
This should be the case. To test, bring up a chart while you are disconnected.

Thanks Kyle,
When I disconnect and create a new chart using any of my instruments, I'm still getting the same time gap. Do I need to do more than just disconnect and create a new chart?
Is it possible that when I reloaded historical data that my streaming data was overwritten? I'm looking at an export of data for one of my instruments and it has the gap.
Also, I'm assuming that if I wanted to edit my data by exporting it, modifying it, then importing it, I could do that. Am I correct?
Thanks again,

Actually, it looks like editing the data myself could be a problem.
It seems that the gap isn't just with your historical data. I went to barchart.com to just get simple data to build my 10-minute candles, and they're missing that time period too.
CME should have the Time & Sales for today either tomorrow or Monday, so I can get it then if it's available.
I would just like to fill in those few 10-min candles so I can create screen shots for my own review (I had trades on at the time). If you have any other ideas that would be great.
Thanks,

Support,
After I restarted NT 6.5 today afternoon, I noticed there is missing ES data from 10:30 am to 11:00 am EST.
DO you know when will this historical data problem be solved?
Thanks

Hi Attitude Trader,
If you reload historical data, NinjaTrader will overwrite the data with data from the server, so it is expected that the data will remain missing.
The Store Realtime data option is recommended primarily for users who do not have access to historical data.

I was disconnected from data for only 1-2 minutes.
Is there a way to make the data that is being stored show up or should it be showing automatically?
Thanks,

Hey Tim,
I thought that might be the case.
Thank you for confirming it and thank you to you and Kyle for your quick responses.
