Years ago CQG had an option to chart all ticks or only changed ticks in tickbar charts. Since then additional software has that option, such as MultiCharts, TradeMaven, FibonacciTrader. eSignal also makes a point change chart, but it appears that eSignal's chart doesn't calculate point changes the same way all the other software packages do, who know what the correct way is....Anyway, I would like to see NinjaTrader have the capability of making Point Change charts, changed ticks only charts, Change charts, maybe name it NinjaTicks.

Are you referring to range bar charts? If yes, we will have this in our fall release.

Range Bar charts are a different type of chart than "changed ticks only". One of the problems with range bars is they plot where price may never have traded and can cause complications with coded strategy entries. FibonacciTrader added an option to not plot at those price levels where no trades occurred when making range bars. I suppose range bars make a nice looking continuous chart and are favored by some gurus. While working on Range bars, the ninjatrader programmers might also look into the "changed ticks only" type of bar. The advantage they have is in clarifying trend by taking much of the noise out of the plot. They also make indicators such as DMI and MACD produce cleaner signal indications, some would say they show trend better than using all ticks, changed and unchanged.
