I'm looking for an indicator that will display the number of ticks that occur within a 5 minute span. Does NT have something like this built in that I can't find or do I need a 3rd party script?
I've seen a chart used with tradestation that looks like a bar char except the bars grow based on ticks. My goal is to monitor it for times it goes above or below X or -X

Unfortunately I'm not directly aware of one, there's a similar concept in the sharing you could perhaps use as a starting point 'Avg Time per Bar' - http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=37

I've been doing a lot of google searches to find out what this chart was called and this picture is the type of chart I want.
But from the readings i've done the cheapest way to get charts like this is through a barcharts subscription. I am currently with zenfire, is this true?

Correct, you would need a feed that supports indices data -
