Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Before plotting charts from yahoo data, do I have to go into the Instrument Mgr and add the symbols?

Thanks,
Ben

No, just open a chart, enter a stock symbol and it should be taken care of for you.

I have problem when download Yahoo for Asia EOD, it delay by 2 days. I have EOD for Malaysia(Paid) but in Metastock format, but can't import into NinjaTrader.

* Can you make a connection to read Offline EOD data (metasock or text) without using import command ?

Sorry no. You would need to format the data in a "NT readable" format: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/HelpGuideV6/Import.html

Hi,

The issue with delayed yahoo data for asian stocks still exists.

eg. I am currently attempting to view the stock BHP (yahoo symbol = bhp.ax) on a daily bar range. Today is Tuesday 26/5 at 2pm Australian Eastern Time, but the last bar shown is Thur 21/5.

The 15 hour difference due to different timezones doesn't seem to explain this, as we should still be able to see Fridays bar.

Perhaps there is an issue with the internationalization of the timezones when requesting data from Yahoo? Your programmers should know what I mean by "internationalization" ie. i18n/ l10n

cheers,
sysimp

NT provided you whatever data YAHOO provides. If you don't see data for then YAHOO would not provide this data. This has nothing to do with internationalization.

YAHOO provides a features where you manually can pull historical data (don't have the details at hand right now). I suggest using that feature to verify what data is available.

OK Dierk,

I have attached 2 images; one has the ninja/yahoo EOD data feed with the last bar provided at 22/5, and one with the EOD data that yahoo provide with the last bar provided at 25/5.

The web address for the yahoo data is provided at:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?a=00&b=2&c=2009&d=04&e=26&f=2009&g=d&s=bhp.ax

I have checked the bars on the ninja chart, and the prices are the same as the yahoo EOD data for the corresponding dates.

I don't understand - perhaps you can make it clear for me, why there is a difference between the yahoo historical data provided by Ninja and the yahoo historical data provided by yahoo?

cheers,
sysimp

Ok,

Cancel this thread, I have discovered that the problem is due to the charting methods that i have been using, which are hiding the last days' data for some unknown reason.

I apologise for any inconvenience.
